Diplodemia: a friend gave me one of these last year at the end of the summer season. I kept it successfully under lights in the basement during the winter. I'm currently working on a Mescal Bean tree. The seeds are hard to sprout (a friend of mine managed, and shared a seedling with me). Then, they like a particular kind of soil (she's got limestone around hers). pickling cucumbers.....OMG! Seriously, if you plant these for your spring garden, you only need to plant 3 seeds. My roommate and I planted 10 plants for pickle making and not 3 weeks later, we were picking cucumbers by the 5-gal bucket fulls...DAILY! We had to give the things away, and some made their way to the compost pile. 3 is REALLY all you need! - Angela of Johnson

Mona Lavendar is my latest. Unfortunately, the So Cal summer is too hot for it (and I don't have major shade). Fortunately, it propogates incredibly easily, just a cutting in water and it grows a ton of roots very quickly. I had rooted several cuttings, so I still have this variety. It's now in my winter greenhouse in a pot and I'll probably bring it in the house in the summer.
