DRIED APPLE WREATH: (Parental assistance required)
Instead of giving your teacher the traditional apple this year, create this lovely wreath for him/her. Great family craft idea. You simply fold the apple slices and push them onto a wire frame. Add a colorful bow or dried flowers.
You will Need

- 2 tsp. cloves
- 2 tsp. orrisroot
- Heart shaped wire frame (8 - 10 inch).
- Ribbon or dried flowers (optional).
- Sharp knife, small bowl, broiler pan, pliers, scissors.
- Preheat oven to 150 degrees F. then mix lemon juice and salt in a small bowl.
- Peel, core and slice apples into thin round slices. Then soak in the lemon mixture about 5 mins.
- Mix the ground spices & roll apple slices in spice mixture.
- Place apple slices in oven on a broiler pan until evenly dried. (5 or 6 hrs) Alternatively you can dry apples in the microwave on low for about 5 mins.
- Straighten the ends of the wire frame with pliers.
- Cool, then fold the apple slices in half, then fold again and insert wire frame through the center.
- When the frame is filled with apples, use pliers to bend ends into hooks to be reconnected.
